Muffuletta Sliders: A Taste of New Orleans

1. Prep Oven & Rolls

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Using a large bread knife, slice the sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected.

2. Layer the Fillings

  • Place the bottom half of the rolls in the baking dish.

  • Layer on mozzarella, soppressata, mortadella, capicola, and provolone cheese evenly.

3. Add Olive Salad & Top

  • Spread the olive salad evenly over the cheese layer.

  • Place the top half of the rolls back on.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 8 minutes.

  • Remove from oven, brush tops with olive oil, and sprinkle sesame seeds.

  • Return to oven for another 4 minutes, until rolls are toasted and cheese is melted.

5. Serve

  • Slice into individual sliders.

  • Serve immediately while warm and melty.


Tips & Variations

  • Make Ahead: Assemble sliders up to 4 hours in advance, cover, and refrigerate. Bake just before serving.

  • Cheese Swap: Try Swiss or fontina instead of provolone for a different flavor.

  • Extra Zing: Add a drizzle of hot sauce or pickled jalapeños for heat.
